The RHRC is seeking a qualified Hospital Finance Liaison. The Hospital Finance Liaison will work with the financial analysis team to support payers and providers with operationalization of various RHRC programs and financial tools.
WORK LOCATION:
- Predominately virtual, with estimated travel 20% of the time
- Must be willing to attend quarterly in-person team meetings.
- Must be willing to travel to client locations as needed.
- Must be willing to attend RHRC hosted events.
- Must be willing to attend industry-relevant events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have a bachelor’s degree, or associate degree with equivalent experience, in accounting.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in hospital or healthcare finance position.
- Have knowledge of day-to-day financial operations of hospitals.
- Ability to prepare financial statements and return on Investment (ROI) statements.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with Hospital Electronic Health Record systems (EHR).
- Familiar with Medicare cost reports.
- Have demonstrated data management skills and experience preparing detailed financial analysis.
- Be self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Be team and service oriented.
- Be highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with rural healthcare dynamics is a plus.

EDUCATION:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Financial Operations & Technical Assistance:
- Work closely with the Finance Supervisor of Client Services on components of RHRC programs and engagements, including the global budget alternative payment methodologies (e.g., global budgets, etc.) and the financial implications of Rural Emergency Hospital conversions.
- Serves as a contact within the RHRC for financial needs of payers, providers, and technical assistance partners.
- Assists in creating data extracts from feeder systems.
- Maintains understanding of computer systems.
- Audits and analyzes data for accuracy and quality assurance.
2. Data Management
- Collects and maintains financial data across all RHRC programs.
- Works closely with data partners and staff, including SQL infrastructure, to ensure accurate data loads are occurring and the effective use of reporting infrastructure.
- Prepares reports and projections based on analysis.
- Identifies available and relevant data, including from internal and external sources, leveraging new data collection processes.
3. Program Monitoring and Support
- Support efforts for data collection required for program reporting for various programs.
- Supports the Finance Supervisor of Client Services and the various project managers with required reporting for federal partners such as CMMI and HRSA.
- Provides financial analysis based on program needs.
- Works collaboratively with the team on clinical and social determinants of health strategies with a focus on the financial implications of these strategies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
